Yesterday, 5th of the month, the prizes known as the climbing oscars were held in Arco. Once more Patxi has been nominated to both disciplines rock and competition. The competition to win one of these prices was really hard, and we should take into account that Patxi last year won the rock award. Finally the awards went to Maja's and Adams's hands. Congratulations for both of them!
On the other hand, today the Rock master show will start. The competitors yesterday tried the after work route and this afternoon it will be the on sight route turn. This will be a beautiful day with bulder, lead and speed competitors trying their best. And tomorrow the climbers will try the after work route and the first four will compete in a spectacular and funny duel.
Irati was invited to this entertaining climbing festival, but finally she had to say no, what was a pity for Irati. After her injury she didn’t feel strong enough to participate in the rock master. In this moment Irati has to choose well her objectives to organise the training with a view for the next word cup competitions.
The last weekend, on Saturday has celebrated the second event of the Spanish climbing Cup. In the last moment Irati decided to participate after having good sensations on her wrist. Despite that there is still some pain. She is having good sensations but the recovering is being slow and there is no place for any plan. In order to take decisions is necessary to consider the feeling of the everyday life.
Irati wanted to try in Oviedo and the result has been so nice as she won the competition. She is very happy with her performance and with the hand because she could climb hard. The objective was to take some sensations in competitions for the World Cup she did it.
This weekend the safest place to escape from the rain was the area of Huesca. Patxi, Josu, Zigor and I chose a beautiful place near Vadiello called San Martin de la Valdonsera. There is a little visigothic chapel in the final way of a canyon and in the middle way there; a big piece of rock goes up to the sky. There are incredible lines with tuffas and nice routes.
On Saturday morning Josu and I took the little van and we went to Salvatierra de Esca, a little climbing area near Nafarroa, in the Vasque Country. Near the crag there is a little refreezing river to have a recovering bath after the climbing day. Nice plan, isn’t it?
My wrist is getting better and I can try hardest route than some days ago. This weekend in Salvatierra has been very exciting, feel the arms pump, fight with 7b+ routes and look how the fingertips became pink color. Is beautiful to feel my head full of plans and ideas again.
